Communication is a basic human need, and Virtual VRI is proud to be a link between the Deaf and hearing worlds. Everyone deserves full access to meetings, classes, and medical appointments.
Our story
Founded to reach the places Interpreters couldn't.
Linda Sokol started Virtual VRI in 2007 with a good friend who is also an Interpreter. They saw a real need: rural communities across the United States couldn't get qualified Interpreters, or had to pay steep travel fees and two-hour minimums.
Remote interpreting changed that. Today we connect schools, hospitals, therapists, courts, and employers with nationally certified Interpreters and captioners, wherever they are, at reasonable hourly rates.
Melissa Deets has been part of Virtual VRI since 2019. Today she owns, manages, and operates the company, carrying that same mission forward.
