Virtual VRI has experienced amazing growth but will never compromise on providing exceptional customer service to everyone involved. Find out who are we, and how can we help you.
Being an interpreter myself, I have first hand knowledge of the professional needs of interpreters and what is required to make communication successful for consumers who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.Linda Sokol, Virtual VRI
VIRTUAL VRI brings high quality video remote interpreting at reasonable prices to consumers. We use only nationally certified Sign Language interpreters. We also service urban locations where the cost of onsite interpreters with two hour minimums and travel fees cause an undo burden for companies, agencies or schools.
Virtual VRI offers the most reasonable hourly rates in the VRI industry!
We take great pride in our exceptional, personalized customer service, treating consumers with care and respect. Communication is a basic human need, and Virtual VRI is proud to be an integral link between the Deaf and hearing worlds.
We also offer CART/TypeWell transcription services and spoken foreign language interpreters.
Virtual VRI Owner
Linda Sokol has a degree in Sign Language Interpreting and has worked full time as a freelance interpreter since 2000 in a variety of settings. She also worked as a VRS interpreter for over five years. She has attended numerous professional development workshops and conventions and has been involved in several organizations and clubs. Linda holds the Educational Interpreter K-12 certificate and the RID Certificates of Interpretation and Transliteration. Virtual VRI was founded in 2009 by Teresa Vonloh and Linda Sokol. In 2015 Teresa stepped down as co-owner due to other commitments but is still an integral part of VRI. Virtual VRI would not have been what it is today without Teresa’s past and current involvement.
I love helping people and encouraging others. I’m blessed to get to work as Linda’s assistant and work with such gifted and kindhearted interpreters and transcribers. My life is filled with various activities that wouldn’t be complete without my kids and husband. I enjoy being involved with my church, working out, teaching dance fitness classes, writing, a little acting, dance choreography, and I’ve recently got a set of bongo drums to pursue my dream of playing the bongos!
WHY VVRI was founded...
…Started Virtual VRI over eight years ago with a good friend who is also an Interpreter. Established because we became aware that there was a need to provide interpreters in rural areas of the United States.
Our goal is....
…Provide reasonably priced exceptionally skilled and personable interpreters. Always provide a demo to ensure adequate internet speeds. Virtual VRI has experienced amazing growth but will never compromise on providing exceptional customer service to everyone involved.
Virtual VRI also...
…offers other accommodations such as Spanish SL, Japanese SL, etc… VV provides remote transcription services such as TypeWell,CART and Post-Production Captioning. Furthermore, we have found that many customers prefer to use the same ASL agency for their spoken foreign language interpreting so we also provide this service remotely.
